The following states have passed laws to eventually reach a minimum wage of $15. While there are a few exceptions, nearly all workers in California must receive the minimum wage required by state law. As of January 1, 2017, the minimum wage will be increased annually for all sectors. From January 1, 2017 to January 1, 2022, the minimum wage for employers with 26 or more employees will be increased. This increase will be deferred for one year, from January 1, 2018 to January 1, 2023, for employers with 25 or fewer employees. If your state has a higher minimum wage than the federal equivalent, you must pay your employees at least the state salary. For example, the minimum wage in Oregon is $12.75 per hour, which is higher than the federal minimum wage, so employers in Oregon must pay their employees at least $12.75 per hour. About the Youth Minimum Wage Program A minimum wage of at least $4.25 may be paid to workers under the age of 20 for the first 90 consecutive calendar days of employment, as long as their employment does not crowd out other workers. As of January 1, 2018, the minimum monthly wage for shepherds was $1,955.74 per month for employers with 26 or more employees and $1,866.88 per month for employers with 25 or fewer employees.
Effective January 1, 2019, the minimum monthly rate increased to $2,133.52 per month for employers with 26 or more employees and $1,955.74 per month for employers with 25 or fewer employees. The monthly minimum wage for shepherds is expressly set out in the CBI Wages Ordinance 14-2001. The wages of shepherds cannot be compensated by food or lodging provided by the employer. Instead, there are provisions in the IWC Order 14-2007, sections 10(F), (G) and (H)) that apply to shepherds in relation to monthly meal and accommodation services to be provided by the employer. In most of these states, the minimum wage will increase on January 1, 2022. However, minimum wages in some states will increase later this year. Technically, Georgia state wage laws set a minimum wage of $5.15 per hour. As previously explained, the FLSA`s minimum wage of $7.25 per hour would replace this state law. California employers with 25 or fewer employees have a minimum wage of $14.00 per hour.

The Day 7 Overtime Act, which is separate from the Minimum Wage Act, requires employers who allow insured employees to work seven days per work week to pay the employee one and a half hours for hours worked on the seventh day if employees work every seven days of the work week. As of November 2021, the minimum wage for all workers covered by the Federal Fair Labour Standards Act (FLSA) is $7.25 per hour. You must pay all your employees at least this hourly wage, with extremely limited exceptions. The rate of $10.33 is for large employers in Minnesota (with annual gross revenue of at least $500,000).
Small employers have a minimum wage of $8.42 per hour. In the November 2020 election, for example, Florida voters were asked a question about raising the minimum wage. More than 3 in 5 voters favored the state raising the minimum wage. That is how Amendment 2 became law in Florida. Amendment 2 resulted in an increase in Florida`s minimum hourly wage to $8.65 effective January 1, 2021. An increase to $10 followed on September 30, 2021. This minimum hourly wage will be increased by $1 per year on September 30 until it reaches $15 in 2026. From 2017 to 2023, the minimum wage will be increased annually to $15.00 per hour on a fixed schedule, and then adjusted annually based on a formula and a set number of employees. Employers of all sizes are required by law to publish job advertisements that reflect minimum wage rates.
In addition, businesses operating in certain cities have additional updates to the city`s minimum wage and must post updated city labor law posters to reflect minimum wage changes. A business that is not covered by the federal Fair Labour Standards Act and has gross annual revenues of $110,000 or less can pay $4.00 per hour. However, if an individual employee produces or moves goods between states, or falls under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act, that employee must receive either the federal minimum wage or the Montana minimum wage.
